Mrs. H. – I had originally went thru financial hardship after being 6 months past due on my mortgage and suffering emotional duress due to the death of my husband. As a result of taking off for the funeral, I was terminated from my employer after 10 years of service. This led to additional stress causing me to have a minor heart attack and to be hospitalized for 2 weeks. TLA slowed down the foreclosure process until I recovered from my illness. Mr. D. – As a Senior Citizen, I had went through a one year period of being unemployed; exhausting all my unemployment, after the company I had worked at for 23 years went bankrupt and closed and I lost all my savings and retirement money. Ms. YT – I came to TLA 6 months past due on the 1st mortgage with Option One, and foreclosure proceedings were imminent. I also was in arrears on my 2nd mortgage with Option One. The reasons for my financial hardship were I had a reduction in salary as a result of changing jobs, a death in my family, and I had to pay the burial expenses, my spousal support ended, along with having to buy a dependable car to get back and forth to work.
